About

Eva Marín Hlynsdóttir is an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Iceland. She obtained her PhD from the University of Iceland in 2015. In her research she has focused on local government and public administration from a broad perspective including issues such as local leadership, local politics, local administration, amalgamation, gender and central-local relations. She has published in books from Palgrave, Gyldendal, Routledge and Peter Lang and Journals on local government. Latest publications include Subnational governance in Small states: the case of Iceland. published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2020 and Gender in Organizations: The Icelandic Female Council manager. published by Peter Lang in 2020. she is a standing member of the Group of independent experts on the European Charter of local self-government (GIE) on behalf of Iceland.
